?A Prelude to the Project 9m2- Museum Goethe Open Space II

The Second Season Program of Goethe Open Space 2013/2014 will be launched on October 18th 2013. The program is organized by the Department for Culture and Education of the General Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai. Zoe ZHANG Bing has been invited to be the curator of this year’s Goethe Open Space. In the space of the 9m2 Museum exhibition, four artists (or art groups) i.e. Ni Youyu, Wang Sishun, the Unknown Museum, and Aaajiao, will, along with the curator, jointly explore the relations between art creation and exhibition, exhibition and space, and space and the post-globalized art system. As our art museums increase in both size and number, we must ask ourselves: is our art improving? Is our creativity more free?
The Living Room is a prelude to 9m2-Museum, which will be exhibited for only one night. During the exhibition, the period of a normal exhibition will be scaled back to one night. 12 invited young artists have to make use of limited space and time to select a work with the size about that of his/her brain to show his/her perception and attitude towards art.
The Living Room will be exhibited in the public space for daily activities organized by the Department for Culture and Education of the General Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai. During the exhibition, the space will be transformed from a practical parlor into a parlor in the context of art. Meanwhile, the name of the exhibition -The Living Room – indicates the nature of open and inclusive in the structure and philosophy of the exhibition. Goethe Open Space aims to be a living room and open the door for young artists.
The following artists have been invited to The Living Room: Ye Linghan, Zhang Lehua, Jin Shan, Wang Taocheng, Hu Zi, Lu Yang, Shang Chengxiang, Liu Ren, Xiao Jiang, Gao Mingyan, and Yu Ji. These young artists will present the diversity, vitality and future of Chinese contemporary art.Sound artist Mai Mai will also be invited to perform the live show 3X3 Vibration: no-input mixer feedback at 7.30 p.m.

歌德开放空间第二季《9 平米美术馆》序幕
2013－2014 年“歌德开放空间”第二季项目将于 2013年10月18日启动。该项目由德国驻上海总领事馆文化教育处主办。项目组邀请独立策展人张冰作为本年度歌德开放空间的策展人。本次的展览主题为《9平米美术馆》。展览将邀请四位(组)艺术家参加,他们分别是 倪有鱼、王思顺、未知博物馆和阿角。在 9平方见方的“美术馆”空间内,策展人和艺术家将共同探讨在后全球化的时代,艺术创作与展览、展览与空间、空间与艺术体系的相互关系。我们的美术馆越建越大,我们的美术馆越来越多,我们的艺术是否更好?我们的创作是否更自由? 展览将从10月开始延续至 2014年3月,以每个(组)艺术家的独立项目形式逐次展开。
《会客厅》是《9平米美术馆》的一次预演和序幕,是一个为期仅一个晚上的展览。《会客厅》是《9平米美术馆》项目的先行者,为之后的四次个展先行抛出问题和开启讨论的空间。在这里, 常规展览的时间长度被压缩到一个晚上的时间。被邀请的年轻艺术家须利用有限的空间,在有限的时间内,选择一件自己大脑大小的作品,代表自己对艺术的观点和态度。
《会客厅》邀请艺术家为:叶凌瀚,张乐华,靳山,王韬程,胡子,陆扬,商成祥,刘任, 肖江,高铭研,于吉。这些年轻的艺术家为我们展示中国当代艺术的丰富层面、活力与未来。 本次展览还将特邀声音艺术家卖卖现场表演其作品《3X3 震荡:无输入调音台回授》。
